Ollie the otter found a beautiful shell during his morning swim. He placed it on his tummy so he could admire it while floating. Color Ollie and his tiny ocean treasure for a splashy adventure!
Ollie is taking a gentle float and has balanced a lovely little shell on his tummy. Otters often rest on their backs in the water, making this the perfect pose for admiring a beachy treasure. Notice how peaceful Ollie looks as he drifts along. The shell can become a tiny work of art with stripes, spots, swirls, or zigzags. What secret colors might it be hiding?
Give Ollie a deep brown coat, then use a lighter brown or cream color around his muzzle and tummy. His nose can be black, with bright dark eyes. Turn the shell into the star by using peach, coral, yellow, or purple stripes. Color the water turquoise, blue, or blue-green, and add white curved lines around Ollie to show little waves. A sandy shore in the distance would look lovely, too.
Sea otters often float on their backs when they eat and rest. They may use their tummies like a small table to hold food! Sea otters have very thick fur that traps air and helps keep them warm in chilly ocean water. They are clever tool users, too: some use rocks to crack open hard shellfish. A group of resting sea otters is sometimes called a raft.
