Leo the lion cub is pretending to be king for the day. He promises that everyone in his kingdom can have extra playtime! Create a grand look for Leo and his royal crown.
Leo may be wearing a crown, but this young lionβs favorite royal rule is simple: everyone deserves more playtime! His crown sits proudly above his little face as he imagines a kingdom filled with games, giggles, and friendly animals. A crown does not have to be gold, either. Maybe Leo is the ruler of a purple-and-green jungle, or a rainbow savanna where every day is a celebration.
Use golden yellow or light tan for Leoβs fur, with a cream muzzle and tummy. His nose can be brown or black, and a tiny pink tongue would make him look friendly. Color the crown bright gold, then add red, blue, or green jewels in each point. A warm orange sunset, tan grass, and a few green bushes behind Leo can turn his pretend kingdom into a grand place to explore.
Lion cubs are born with spots on their fur, which can help them blend into grassy places. As they grow older, many of the spots fade. Adult male lions may grow a mane around their heads, but cubs do not have one yet. Lions live in family groups called prides. Lionesses do much of the hunting, while cubs spend lots of time playing, learning, and staying close to the pride.
