A Patterned Egg Mystery

Something small is wiggling inside this giant dinosaur egg! Its shell is covered with circles, zigzags, spots, and repeating shapes that spread out like a mandala. Each little section is waiting for its own color. Maybe the dinosaur inside has a long neck, a spiky tail, or tiny arms. Before the shell cracks open, you can make it the most colorful egg from the age of dinosaurs.

Decorate the Dino Shell

Make the egg look rocky with tan, brown, and cream sections, or turn it into a bright fantasy egg with purple, orange, and lime green. Use one color for all the spots and another for every zigzag so the designs stand out. Red, blue, and yellow can repeat around the circular pattern. If you imagine a baby dinosaur peeking out, color its eye black and add a cheerful green face.

Dinosaur Egg Discoveries

Many dinosaurs laid eggs, just like birds and turtles do today. Scientists have found fossil eggs and nests in several parts of the world. A fossil is a clue from long ago, such as a bone, footprint, or egg shell that became hard like rock. Not every dinosaur egg looked the same: some were rounder, while others were more oval. Baby dinosaurs hatched from eggs after growing inside them.
