Two Ducklings by Number 2

Two little ducklings are here to help children meet the number 2. Find the first duck, then find the second duck, and count slowly: one, two! Their rounded bodies and tiny feet make this page especially fun for young colorists. The big number 2 gives little hands plenty of room to color. Can you make the two ducklings match, or will each one get its own colorful look?

Color a Puddle for the Ducks

Baby ducks can be colored soft yellow, with orange bills and orange webbed feet. Give one duck a yellow body and the other a light brown body if you want them to look different. Color the number 2 bright blue or green. A puddle can be pale blue with darker blue ripples. Draw a few green reeds or small pink flowers near the water to make a welcoming duckling home.

Duckling Facts for Little Counters

Ducklings are baby ducks. Soon after they hatch, many ducklings can walk, swim, and follow their mother. Their webbed feet work like little paddles in the water. Ducks have feathers coated with special oil that helps keep water from soaking in easily. A group of ducks can be called a flock. When ducklings travel together behind a parent, they often look like a tiny waddling parade.
